Tempering Applications are often seen in the steel and glass making industries, where the process involves the controlled cooling of the materials to a desired temperature. Filtered air is often employed, so as to not contaminate the material. AFC Model IE and Pressure Blower series of fans are used for applications where high velocities of air are required.

Certain processes required that the air flow to be controlled for air flow adjustments. This may be accomplished with the use of dampers attached to the fan, or supplied and used downstream of the fan. Variable frequency drives are an alternative for air volume control and offer energy savings.
