Air Pollution Control systems involve equipment such as dust collectors and scrubbers. AFC Model BCS and BCA fans are commonly used on the clean side of the dust collectors to draw dusty air across the filter bags so that clean air is exhausted. Fans used for scrubber applications often involve fans constructed of special corrosion resistant coatings or material alloys. Scrubbers are used to clean severely contaminated air as seen in foundry and plating installations. Due to the contaminants involved, it is typical to see stainless steel material of construction specified. AFC is experienced in the manufacturer of stainless steel fans and blowers.

Forced Draft fans are typically on the "clean" side of the process, where the contaminated air does not actually go through the fan. An example would be a backward inclined fan on the clean side of a dust collector, used to draw the dirty air through the dust collector and across filter bags to collect the dust and exhaust clean air. AFC Model BCS and BCA fans are designed with forced draft service in mind.

Oder Control - The control and capture of odors is created by the movement of air through an odor-absorber scrubbers. AFC offers a choice of shaft seal types and low leakage construction to prevent odors from escaping from the fan. If the air is corrosive, AFC offers a choice of materials of construction and special coatings.

Oxidizers are systems which specialize in the destruction of volatile organic compounds. Thermal oxidizers using regenerative catalytic technology give back energy after incineration. The incinerator design may require forced draft or induced draft fans.
