Process Control Tempering applications are often seen in the steel and glass making industries, where the process involves the controlled cooling of the materials to a desired temperature. Filtered air is often employed, so as to not contaminate the material. American Fan Company offers model IE and Pressure Blower series of fans which are used for applications where high velocities of air are required.
Certain Process Control Tempering processes require that the air flow be controlled for air flow adjustments. This may be accomplished with the use of dampers attached to the fan, or supplied and used downstream of the fan. Variable frequency drives are an alternative for air volume control and offer energy savings.
